Galveston

I’ve been down in Galveston since Saturday and will stay down here through the end of the coming weekend, possibly longer. So far, it’s mainly been me and another friend.

It’s been very nice and peaceful. I prefer visiting this time of the year. Warm during the day, cool at night and not many vacationers. Which means, I get to be the annoying vacationer. You know that prick that’s up until 4 in the morning drunk on tequila. Fortunately, that was only Saturday night and I don’t expect a repeat, well, maybe still up till 4 am, but not the drunk on tequila part.

So far the weather’s been great. Highs of about 85, so warm enough to enjoy the beach and the water but not so oppressive that you’re afraid your nutsack’s going to melt away. Lows in the lower 60s, cool enough to open the windows and feel the breeze.

Ah, it feels good to get away.
